I am a Coast Guard Officer for the last 25 years and my rank today is Commodore Eng, at Hellenic Coast Guard, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Insular Policy.

Today I am working in the supervision branch of Attica’s 10 Port states (4 months).

Previous occupation as the Director of Seafarer’s Training Directorate supervising the 11 Nautical Academies in Greece, reforming the Education Program of Academies in cooperation with the Eugenides Foundation, Preparing and issuing several Presidential Degree’s to reform Nautical Academies operation, as well as the foundation of New KESEN in Michaniona Macedonia, New school of firefighting and lifesaving in Oinousses, new Academy in Kalymnos and reopening the school of divers in Kalymnos. Incorporate the IGF Code and Polar Code, in Greece legislation almost ready. New installations in almost all Academies and locked a program of installations budget 30 Mil Euros for the next 5 years so in almost all Academies new equipment will installed, updated, or upgraded, as (bridge simulators, GMDSS simulators, Engine Simulators, Cargo simulators, as well as various e-learning system, Laboratories etc.). Five Bilateral agreements with other countries as USA, Russia, etc. ISO from TUV with excellent results. Participation in IMO as leader of National Experts, in various IMO working groups, in EMSA working groups. As the Commanding Officer of the KESEN / Captains (the seafarer’s national continuous training center). (Renewed KESEN system to be more open to the shipping industry)

As the Director of the Hellenic Bureau for Marine Casualty Investigations (HBMCI). Organized the Bureau from scratch. (Best practice from EMSA, the technical instrument of European Community) 3 years, visit the website http://www.hbmci.gov.gr/ there are many Reports for Nautical Accidents. (Incident investigator from EMSA), participation in various working groups in EMSA.

As the Director of Regulations and Recognized Organization (RO) Supervision. HCG Prepared and issued the new Model agreement with Greece and Recognized Organizations. As the Commanding Officer of Piraeus Port Police, HCG (strategic and calm suppression of the biggest political uprising in port police).

As the Director of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, HCG (upgrading the Information system and telecommunication system for the next 7 years that system
properly works still now). As the Director in National Sea Traffic the National Centre of Sea Traffic, HCG (not for long period, but several unsolved problems solved).

ARMY : Served the Hellenic Navy as chief petit reserve officer in research department of Hellenic Lighthouse Services of the Hellenic Navy, during his army duties he built a DB-Integrated System to support the maintenance of the Hellenic Lighthouse Network supporting also the two (2) supporting vessels Karavogianos and Lykoudis. Supporting liaison with International Lighthouse Association IALA and Hellenic navy. 1992.
